Acting Minister for Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Aziz during a meeting with industrialists has stressed over the high quality of production and said low quality products will lose government support.
On its Twitter handle, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said a coordination meeting with the chambers representatives of different sectors regarding the implementation of government support strategy from local products was held under the chairmanship of Commerce Minister Nooruddin Aziz.
Azizi added that in order to promote the culture of using domestic products, all the media outlets, Imams of mosques, schools and university teachers are informed to convey the message of using domestic products to the people of Afghanistan for the purpose of self-sufficiency of the country
Participants of the meeting hailed the ministry effort for arranging the gathering to promote local production.
Sher Baz Kaminzada, head of the Industries and Mining Chamber, said strengthening local production meant the strengthening of trade. What the industrialists produce is used by our businessmen, which causes the circulation of capital inside the country.
Esmat Wardak, a steel mill owner, said in the past $600 million were spent on the purchase of steel products adding that currently even one cent is not going outside. He gave the credit for this development to the incumbent government and added in the past such support did not existed.
Another Businessman Shafiq Askandari said currently Afghan products like the Baheer Paper has great value in the Central Asian Markets.
At the end industrialists assured to work hard for improving the quality of their production to attract the attention of the people and foreign market.
