Expressing his satisfaction with his visit & meetings in Afghanistan, Mr. Feridun held discussions regarding composition & recommendations of his report. Sharing his opinion, Mr. Feridun stressed on increased engagement between Afghanistan & the international community. Recalling noteworthy progress IEA has made in Afghanistan in ensuring security, countering narcotics, economy, health, transparency, governance & services, & considering these steps taken by IEA as constructive for engagement with international community, FM Muttaqi added that despite all these achievements, the international community has insisted on one-sided demands & engaged in collective punishment of the people of Afghanistan by freezing their assets & imposing sanctions, thus creating impediments for constructive interaction. To end, FM Muttaqi reiterated that Afghanistan is no longer an unsafe conflict-mirred country, but peace & a central government prevail, hence the international community should step forward vis-a-vis constructive interaction in line with the current ground realities.
