In this meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the inappropriate treatment of the security officials of Pakistan with the forcefully deported Afghans, and the short-term and long-term assistance from international community for the Afghan repatriates with the Afghan government.
FM Muttaqi said that the Pakistani government is conducting raids on the homes of Afghan refugees, forcibly taking their cash, their portable assets and vehicles, and even not allowing them to take animals with them.
Adding that thousands of people are forced to wait in the cold weather under sky at night without any facilities and services without justified reasons.
FM Muttaqi said that Pakistan is trying to take advantage of humanitarian issues and the issues related to refugees for different purposes, and are not even listening to the words and ideas of their own people thereof.
Also, Underscoring the measures taken to welcome and assist his compatriots, FM Muttaqi said that the issue of urgent and long-term assistance for the compatriots being repatriated to their country is the highest priority at the government level, and they will spare no means therefrom.
FM Muttaqi urged that all international bodies must fulfill their obligations regarding the plight of refugees.
Mrs. Roza Otunbayeva, said that she is closely observing the situation, the concerned bodies are present on the ground to help, and will continue to attract international attention and aid in this regard.
