A delegation consisting of media representatives, journalists, and media experts from the Islamic Republic of Iran met with Alhaj Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanakzai, the Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, according to a statement of the foreign ministry.
During the meeting, Mr. Stanakzai warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the inseparable and essential nature of the relations between Afghanistan and Iran, citing religious, cultural, traditional, and customary ties. He further highlighted the shared challenges faced by both countries at the international level, leading to restrictions on free trade with other nations. Consequently, he expressed the potential for enhancing trade and transit between Afghanistan and Iran, fostering sincere and positive relations.
In response to the delegation’s questions regarding policy, the current situation in Afghanistan, and girls’ education, Mr. Stanakzai emphasized that the Islamic Emirate seeks amicable relations with regional and global nations, including neighboring countries, while preventing the use of Afghan territory against any party. He asserted that Afghanistan is now in a state of complete peace, characterized by a strong central government, eradication of corruption, prevention of poppy cultivation and smuggling, and the provision of treatment for drug addiction. He assured the delegation that efforts to promote girls’ education are ongoing, with the goal of creating a favorable environment to swiftly enable access to education.
Lastly, Mr. Stanakzai addressed the media, highlighting their role in comprehending the realities of Afghanistan and presenting an accurate image of the country to both the global community and its own citizens. The delegation expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with Mr. Stanakzai and pledged to share the current situation and facts about Afghanistan with its people and the international community through media channels.
