Former Indonesian Vice President and current Head of the Council of Mosques, Dr. Jusuf Kalla, and his delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi to discuss ongoing developments in Afghanistan.
During the dialogue, Dr. Kalla expressed satisfaction with the progress made and assured continued support from Indonesia. Additionally, he conveyed Indonesia’s readiness to invest in diverse sectors such as education and mining.
Moreover, Dr. Kalla commended the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) for effectively addressing the challenges facing the country, citing it as a positive example for others. He announced scholarships for Afghan youth from Indonesia and emphasized the need for accurate information about Afghanistan in international forums.
In response, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude for their country’s support and assistance. He highlighted the achievements of the IEA, including ensuring security, combating drug-related activities and administrative corruption, providing care for vulnerable groups such as orphans and widows, and facilitating the return and resettlement of over 2 million Afghan migrants expelled from neighboring countries. Additionally, he mentioned the implementation of various major and minor development projects across the country.
Addressing the distortion of Afghanistan’s reality and the spread of misinformation by some individuals to others, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs reaffirmed the IEA’s commitment to the country’s development and progress.
Furthermore, in welcoming Indonesia’s interest in investing across different sectors in Afghanistan, he expressed the IEA’s desire for positive relations with all nations, with a particular emphasis on fostering strong ties with Indonesia.
