The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi, attended and addressed at the opening ceremony of three new branches for passport distribution.
During his address, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the Interior Ministry and officials of the General Directorate of Passports. He stated that the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing better services to all people within the scope of available resources and will spare no effort.
He further stated that obtaining a passport is a right for everyone and due to lack of access, people faced challenges. However, the Islamic Emirate has endeavored to address this and today we witness the opening of three new branches in different locations.
Moreover, the Deputy PM mentioned that previously, there was only one passport distribution center across the country, which did not meet all needs. As a result, our citizens faced challenges and it took weeks or months for individuals to obtain passports. He noted that initially, there were technical problems, including a shortage of passport booklets but Alhamdulillah these were resolved, leaving only the distribution centers as challenges. The single center was inadequate for all people, including patients, tourists, business travelers, Hajj or Umrah pilgrims and those with urgent affairs. Therefore, the leadership of the Islamic Emirate decided to establish additional centers.
Regarding facilitation for the issuance of passports in the new three branches, the Deputy PM emphasized that all necessities have been considered. Separate waiting rooms have been built for men and women, along with mosques and other necessary facilities. It is hoped that passports will be distributed to applicants in the coming weeks.
In conclusion, the Deputy PM reaffirmed that the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing better services and facilitating all citizens in various departments. He said that the Islamic Emirate strives to ensure that everyone has access to better services and with the help of Allah Almighty, no fellow citizen will encounter problems when obtaining a passport.
