Today, on Wednesday (October 16, 2024), the Technical, Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET-A) signed memorandums of understanding with the Ministry of Interior, the Prison Administration Authority, the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan, the Bank-e-Millie Afghan, and the Better Life for Afghans Institution during a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC).
During the press conference, the director of TVET-A, Mawlawi Ghulam Haidar Shahamat, stated that under the MoU with the Prison Administration Authority, a technical and vocational education environment will be prepared for prisoners, enabling them to manage their lives after release from detention. He also noted that the MoU with the Academy of Sciences aims to enhance academic relations and foster scientific, research, and educational cooperation while effectively utilizing opportunities, resources, capacities, and scientific achievements.
Additionally, he explained that the MoU with the Interior Ministry aims to establish conditions for technical and vocational education for addicted individuals. Regarding the MoU with the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan, the director emphasized that it aims to ensure transparency, speed up work procedures, and provide banking services for the distribution of salaries to employees and teachers of TVET-A in the center.
Moreover, he stated that the MoU with Bank-e-Millie Afghan aims to provide necessary facilities for paying subsistence money to TVET-A students in the center, as well as to offer all conventional and Islamic banking services. Lastly, the MoU with the Better Life for Afghans Institution aims to create a collaborative environment for designing and implementing short-term education programs between the two sides, as well as to combat poverty by establishing technical and vocational careers.
