On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, a coordination meeting was convened at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) between press officials of the political, security and defense sectors, along with journalists.
Welcoming the participants, the Deputy Director of GMIC, Mr. Hashmatullah Naseri emphasized the importance of bilateral coordination between state departments and the media. He stated that the GMIC, as a connective bridge strives to develop cooperation and enhance the level of access to information, aiming to address existing challenges together.
Furthermore, the Deputy Director highlighted that to better reflect the system’s achievements, coordination and cooperation between government departments and the media are crucial. He added that the GMIC holds such meetings to tackle existing challenges, improve coordination and on the other hand, create opportunities for better reflecting the government’s achievements.
In turn, media representatives and journalists shared their views, expressing appreciation for the initiative taken by the GMIC to foster stronger ties between the government institutions and the media. They recognized the meeting as a timely and positive step in strengthening collaboration.
Journalists and media officials raised certain challenges related to access to information and offered recommendations for addressing these issues, which were discussed with the participants.
Furthermore, press officials of the political, security and defense sectors, also delivered remarks, expressing their gratitude to the leadership of GMIC for its efforts in strengthening cooperation between spokespersons and the media. They promised to make serious efforts to cooperate with media to better reflect the system’s achievements.
At the conclusion, Mr. Mohammad Asif Ahmad Zoy, Head of the Media Relations Department of GMIC called for enhancing access to information and fostering closer collaboration between government departments and the media.
