The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi met with Mr. Zhao Xing, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Afghanistan and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhao Xing, the Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, highlighted the strong, multifaceted ties between the two countries. He noted that the friendship between China and Afghanistan has lasted for seventy years, underscoring the deep bonds between the two nations. He also mentioned the growth in trade and investment and noted that the Chinese Embassy issued a record number of visas to Afghan traders and citizens last year, reflecting strengthened bilateral relations.
Additionally, the Chinese Ambassador shared China’s commitment to supporting Afghan refugees, developing cold storage, and aiding agriculture, health, and mining projects, pledging sustained cooperation.
In response, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi, expressed his pleasure in meeting with the Chinese Ambassador and his delegation. He thanked China for its support in assisting Afghan refugees and for advocating Afghanistan’s position in international forums.
The Deputy PM underscored the strong and lasting trade, economic, and political ties between Afghanistan and China, stressing the positive and issue-free nature of their relationship. He expressed hope that these ties will continue to grow stronger in the future.
Furthermore, he welcomed Chinese investments across various sectors and urged further collaboration, particularly in electricity production and equipping hospitals with modern medical equipment to support Afghanistan’s development.
In his concluding remarks, the Deputy PM reiterated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is committed to fostering positive and friendly relations with all countries, especially with its neighbors, and urges them to uphold strong ties with Afghanistan.
