A factory for making jackets was inaugurated in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of capital Kabul on Saturday.

The owner of the factory said that $100,000 has been invested in the project. The company is expected to provide job opportunities for at least 100 people, according to the owner.

“We have invested around $100,000 and we will try to boost our investment and also increase our products,” said Abdul Wadod, the owner of the factory.

The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) urged the citizens to support the domestic products.

“The jackets which are being sewn, will solve more than 50 percent of the need in the market. These jackets are both well-quality and with less price,” said Khanjan Alokozai, a member of the ACCI.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment of Ghazni, Qalandarzai, called on the Islamic Emirate to support the Afghan entrepreneurs in various fields.

“I request the government to seriously support the domestic industries and investments,” he said.

Based on the numbers of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industry and Mines, there are a total of nearly 5,000 factories, however due to shortage of power, some of these factories have halted their operations.
