Officials of the National Development Corporation (NDC) said that more than 70 projects that have remained incomplete will be completed in the solar year 1402 (March 2023 to March 2024).

The deputy head of the NDC, Abdul Wali Adil, said the construction of development projects will be accelerated this year.

Adil said that 72 percent of work on the first phase of the Qoshtepa Canal and 92 percent of work on Qala-e-Afzal and Torko canals of Kamal Dam have been completed.

“The National Development Corporation is planning to resume work on 72 projects in the solar year 1402 that were halted after political changes (in the country) and also plans to accelerate work on 10 big national projects,” he added.

According to Adil, work on more than 80 projects including dams and canals has been completed.

“The National Development Corporation worked on 93 projects of which 83 projects have been completed,” he stated.

The NDC authorities also said that work on 600 projects has been halted.

“We hope that in cooperation with the Islamic Emirate and many other organizations, the fate of 600 projects will be clarified,” said Abdul Wali Ahmadzai, head of Banayi Construction Company, which is an entity of NDC.

The NDC said that the 72 projects that are planned to be completed in the solar year 1402 will cost 1.5 billion Afs.
