The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said that the neighboring countries of Afghanistan at the Samarkand conference stressed the need for good relations with the Islamic Emirate.
The deputy spokesman for MoFA, Zia Ahmad Takal, said that the countries involved in the conference also called for the improvement of bilateral cooperation.
According to the spokesman, the acting foreign minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, reached an agreement over the release of 200 Afghan prisoners in a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on the sidelines of the Samarkand conference.
Some political analysts said that the meeting in Uzbekistan will have positive influence in improving relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
