The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has always emphasized on the implementation of economic and infrastructural projects, striving to complete unfinished projects, aimed at creating job opportunities for its citizens and bringing tangible changes to their social and economic lives.
The TAPI project is one of the notable projects of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and efforts are being made to expedite the implementation of this vital project in coordination with the concerned countries, particularly Turkmenistan.
In order to initiate practical work on the TAPI project, officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, in separate meetings with officials from relevant entities of Turkmenistan, besides, emphasizing on strengthening economic, commercial, and diplomatic relations, they have considered the TAPI project, as a top priority.
In addition, IEA has also assured Turkmenistan of ensuring security and providing necessary facilities to expedite the implementation of this project.

The TAPI project, as one of the most important regional projects, is of vital importance to Afghanistan. The total length of the TAPI gas pipeline is 1814 kilometers, transferring gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India. The TAPI gas pipeline passes through the provinces of Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, and Kandahar, with 814 kilometers of its total length laid in Afghan territory. In Afghanistan, the TAPI gas pipeline is laid along the Herat-Kandahar highway and then passes through Quetta and Multan in Pakistan before reaching India.
It should be noted that with the implementation of the TAPI project, Afghanistan will annually receive over $400 million in transit fees in addition to receiving sufficient gas. Furthermore, the implementation of this project will create economic and employment opportunities for thousands of people residing in the five mentioned provinces.
Accordingly, Afghanistan will receive up to 500 million cubic meters of gas annually in the first ten years, one billion cubic meters in the second ten years, and 1.5 billion cubic meters in the third ten years from this project. According to available statistics, with the operation of this project, Turkmenistan will supply 33 billion cubic meters of gas annually to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.
Officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan believe that favorable conditions have been created for the implementation of economic and infrastructural projects in the country, and they are committed to providing the necessary facilities to pave the ground for the implementation of mega economic projects in Afghanistan. #Top of Form
