While some provinces of the country are witnessing heavy snowfall, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has allocated 50 million Afs to prevent the loss of livestock.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, announced that due to the snowfall in Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Herat and Badghis provinces, the livestock of a large number of people have perished or are facing the risk of perishing.
He added that in order to assess the situation, an urgent and special meeting was held under the direction of PM Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, and a committee was appointed to address the issue.
Provincial authorities have been instructed to provide food for the people’s livestock and to take measures to protect the livestock from the cold and to take serious steps for reopening of roads. People have also been asked to help livestock owners in their nearby areas to prevent losses.
