The exhibition was attended by high ranking officials of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan as well as representatives of 40 other countries.
In the opening ceremony, the Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, highlighted the importance of bilateral collaboration in boosting economic growth and trade between the two countries.
During his visit, Mr. Azizi, also addressed the Turkmen-Afghan Business Forum, stressing that the Islamic Emirate has created conducive environment for attracting domestic and foreign investment in Afghanistan.
At the same time, the Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, visited the Afghan-Turkmen exhibition and in a meeting with IEA’s Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, give necessary instructions to the relevant departments of Turkmenistan to use Afghanistan’s precious stones, steel, paint and other materials in the construction of the second phase of Arkadan township.
Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to continued cooperation with Afghanistan in various economic, transit, and trade sectors.
It is noteworthy, that for the first time attending a foreign exhibition by the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, reiterates his sincere intention to further strengthen bilateral relations through mutual cooperation between the people and governments of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
During his visit to Turkmenistan, Mr. Azizi also discussed various economic projects with the officials of the country, with special emphasize on the implementation of TAPI and TAP projects.
