An Iranian delegation has met with the acting minister of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, Attaullah Omari, for talks on boosting cooperation with Afghanistan in the agriculture sector.
During the meeting, both sides said they want practical bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, livestock, horticulture, research, and soil science.
Omari said that Afghanistan has privileges that many countries in the world do not have, including a climate suitable to farming, abundant land, many rivers, and sufficient human resources.
Bilateral working committees have also held meetings and discussed the beginning of practical work in the sectors of livestock, horticulture, research, education, promotion, trade, export and import, and investments in various sectors of agriculture and livestock. According to experts, since Afghanistan is an agricultural country, many of its people are engaged in farming and animal husbandry. They say if the country’s agriculture sector is mechanized, Afghanistan will not only become self-sufficient in the production of grain, but it will also be able to export its agricultural products to other countries.
