Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) reports that contracts for 104 electricity projects valued at over 3 billion AFN were signed in 1402.
Chief operation of DABS during a press conference at the media an information center, stated that key accomplishments for the company last year included the reconstruction of the substation in Chamtal district of Balkh province, completion of the remaining work on the 500 kilovolt Shiberghan-Dasht Alwan electricity project, construction and installation of the Noor ul-Jihad substation, and the transfer of the 220 kilovolt Ghazni-Kandahar power line.
According to information from Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, around 5.76 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were imported and purchased from neighboring countries in the solar year 1402, with contracts also completed with Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Iran, and there are plans to purchase 6.7 billion kilowatt-hours from these countries in the current year.
Officials also stated that revenue and debt collections were transparently managed last year, and Breshna Sherkat has proposed a plan to prevent electricity losses.
Maiwand Ataee, the Commercial Deputy of DABS, said: Breshna Sherkat is making efforts to organize the plan and take the budget into consideration so that, once the budget is approved, we can reduce commercial and technical losses beyond the current levels.
The chief of operation of DABS, also pledged that work on the CASA-1000 project would practically begin soon, and efforts would be made to attract more investments in the electricity sector.
