During his visit to Uzbekistan, which included a series of meetings with high-ranking officials and visits to ancient and cultural sites, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi, visited Samarqand Province.
Upon arriving in Samarqand province, the Deputy Prime Minister was welcomed by the provincial governor and several state officials and then held a meeting with Adiz Muzaffarovich Boboyev, the provincial governor.
Expressing his welcome to Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi and his accompanying delegation, Adiz Muzaffarovich Boboyev, the governor of Samarqand stated that Uzbekistan and Afghanistan share common cultural and historical ties and by leveraging these shared connections, the two countries can strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam Hanafi, expressing thanks for the Uzbek officials’ hospitality stated that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, with their long-standing and incomparable historical relations, also hold an admirable standing in the fields of culture and Islamic civilization. By properly utilizing these strengths, bilateral relations can be further developed.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation also toured the province’s Islamic and historical sites, including the tomb of Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him), where they prayed for him.
