On Sunday, January 5, 2025, the Director of the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), Mawlawi Naeemulhaq Haqqani Herati and his accompanying delegation visited the Kabul-based CCTV Media Network.
At the outset, the Deputy Director of GMIC, Mr. Hashmatullah Naseri, explained that the purpose of the visit is to address the challenges media outlets face in accessing information and to find appropriate solutions.
Furthermore, the Director of GMIC, Mawlawi Naeemulhaq Haqqani Herati stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) acknowledges the importance of media and is committed to media activities under Islamic principles. He added that the IEA based on its policy, consistently strives to demonstrate through action what it asserts. He emphasized that the IEA does not merely speak but takes action to prove it. Therefore, he expressed hope that both domestic and foreign media operating under the supervision of the IEA would provide accurate information about Afghanistan to the public and present a truthful picture of the country.
Moreover, the Director of GMIC stated that GMIC serves as a bridge between governmental departments and both domestic and foreign media, working to enhance media activities within the country and improve cooperation between the government and the media.
In response, the head of the Kabul-based CCTV Media Network warmly welcomed the GMIC leadership and appreciated their visit, regarding it as a significant step toward enhancing cooperation between GMIC and the media. He also noted that, due to mutual coordination meetings between governmental departments and media officials at GMIC, the challenges faced by the media have been addressed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of furthering bilateral relations and engagement.
