On Thursday, 14 November 2024, through a joint press conference of the Afghan Technical, Vocational, Education and Training Authority (TVET-A) and the Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC), the officials of TVET-A provided information on the outcomes of the South-South-North Symposium at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC).
During the press conference, the officials of TVET-A said that the Afghan Technical, Vocational, Education and Training Authority (TVET-A) and the Norwegian Afghanistan Committee (NAC) hosted the first-ever South-South-North Symposium on Inclusion and Diversity in Education on 12th and 13th November. They added that the aim of the symposium is for Afghan, Indonesian, and Norwegian academicians, education planners, doners, UN agencies, national and international organizations, and organizations of persons with disabilities to work together across sectors, as discrimination against persons with disabilities knows no boundaries.
Shedding light on the aim of the symposium, they stated that its aim is to end the isolation, stigma, and discrimination of persons with disabilities throughout the Global South.
Moreover, the officials mentioned that in this symposium, academicians, education planners, government entities, and national and international NGOs came together to identify the challenges, as well as provide practical solutions.
