On December 24, 2024, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the contract for the Logar cement factory was signed at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) between the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and the Afghan-Sako Corporation.
During the press conference, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Mullah Hidayatullah Badri stated that there is a pleasure place that today we are witnessing the commencement of a significant and vital project. He added that the project will be implemented at value of 145 million dollars, with a period of 30 years between two sides.
Moreover, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum emphasized that upon the implementation of the project, job opportunities will be created for hundreds of people.
It is worth noting that since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed contracts for four major cement projects with the private sector, involving a total investment of approximately 623 million dollars. Currently, work on these projects is progressing rapidly.
