Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister Office said: Islamic Emirate is trying to improve governance and provide services to the people of Afghanistan, as well as to inform the public about its policies, achievements and plans.
He added: The Islamic Emirate supports journalists and freedom of expression within the framework of Islamic principles.
Afterward, Deputy Director of the Public and Strategic Affairs, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi said: Government accountability program is held every year at the Government Media and Information Center where all government institutions share their progress reports with media and the public.
Mr. Muttaqi thanked the IEA institutions and media for their active participation in the entire program last year.
Bilal Karimi, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, also spoke about the role of the media in bringing the government and the people closer and urged the journalists to cover the program in a professional manner.
