Afghan refugees returned from various routes of the country, and they received necessary services in different areas. The detailed report is provided below:
Nangarhar
Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line):
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
A total of 56 (120 members) families returned to the country through Torkham, and successfully registered and processed biometrically.
Transport and Transfer Committee:
28 families who arrived at Torkham, comprising a total of 139 individuals, were safely transported to Jalalabad, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul provinces. These families were provided with 32,000 Afghan as rent.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
10 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp at Torkham.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
A range of services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees at the Torkham camp. The following services were delivered:
Food: 2,500 meals and 85,000 liters of clean water were distributed in the Torkham camps.
Food items and clothing: Blankets, flooring materials, stoves, gas stoves, 60 packages of raw food items, and various other items were distributed to the returning refugees.
Communication: 207 SIM cards with free minutes and internet packages were distributed to the returnees.
Job Seeking Committee:
The Employment Committee registered a total of 3 individuals with bachelor’s degrees, 1 individual with a master’s degree, 43 unskilled workers, and 54 skilled professionals at Torkham, totaling 101 individuals.
The committee also conducted public awareness programs for 113 children in Torkham, covering topics such as explosives, hygiene, child protection, and information about Afghanistan. Additionally, recreational activities and games were organized for the mental well-being of these children. Moreover, the committee successfully reunited 2 lost children with their families.
Kandahar Province
Spin Boldak (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
A total of 45 families consisting of 245 members returned to the country through Spin Boldak and were duly registered.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to 56 families, granting them 10,000 Afghanis each, resulting in a total of 560,000 Afghanis.
Transport and Shipping Committee:
26 families comprising 148 members from Spin Boldak were safely transported to Kandahar, Uruzgan, Herat, and Kabul provinces. These families received 32,000 Afghanis as transportation aid.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
A total of 52 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Spin Boldak today.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
In Spin Boldak, the following services were provided to the returning refugees, particularly in the area of health:
Food: 1,200 meals and clean water were distributed in Spin Boldak.
Health: 358 returnees received medical treatment in Spin Boldak.
Public Awareness: 570 refugees received public awareness sessions covering various health topics.
Clothing: Tents, blankets, and bedding materials were distributed to refugees in the short-term camps.
Communication: The Department of Communication Services distributed 260 SIM cards to the returned refugees in Spin Boldak, free of charge, including free minutes and internet packages.
Job Seeking Committee:
The Employment Committee registered a total of 211 individuals in Spin Boldak, including 3 individuals with bachelor’s degrees, 2 religious scholars, 2 Holy Quran memorizers, 157 unskilled workers, and 47 skilled professionals.
The committee also conducted public awareness programs on explosives, hygiene, child protection, and Afghanistan for 46 children in Spin Boldak. Moreover, recreational activities and entertainment programs were provided to promote mental well-being among the children. Additionally, the committee successfully reunited 2 separated children with their families.
Zabul Province
Schmalzu Route (Durand Fictitious Line)
Transport and Transfer Committee:
2 families consisting of 9 members were relocated to different areas within the Shamlazo district.
Pakia Province
Temporary Settlement Committee:
A total of 52 families were accommodated in the short-term settlement Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq camp in Paktia province.
Paktika Province
Angor Ada (Durand Fictitious Line)
Accreditation, Registration, and Reception Committee:
A family returned to the country through the Angur base and underwent the registration process.
Transport and Shipping Committee:
Two families comprising 10 members were safely transferred to their respective areas from the Angor Ada.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Management Committee provided a cash amount of 10,000 Afghanis to a single family.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees at the Angur Adha and Sharna locations:
Food: A total of 127 meals and water were distributed to the refugees at the Angur base and Sharna.
Health: 25 returning refugees received medical treatment at the Angur base.
Information and Public Awareness Committee
As in the past, public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees at the Angur base. The refugees were provided with valuable information regarding their registration, transfers, financial assistance, short-term settlement, as well as understanding the country, Islamic system, migration, patience and tolerance, and education and training.
Nimroz Province
Silk Road
Registration and Reception Committee:
43 families comprising 135 members returned to the country through the Silk Route in Nimroz province and were successfully registered. Additionally, 2,077 travelers also returned to the country.
Finance Management Committee:
A sum of 10 Afghanis was given in cash to 9 families along Nimroz province’s Silk Road, totaling 90,000 Afghanis.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
37 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Nimroz.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
The following services, including healthcare, were provided to the refugees who returned via the Nimroz Silk Road today:
Communication: The officials from the Communications and Information Technology department distributed 43 SIM cards to the refugees free of charge, along with free minutes and internet packages.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions were conducted for 135 refugees on the Silk Road in Nimroz province. The refugees were provided with valuable information regarding their registration, transfers, financial assistance, short-term settlement, as well as understanding the country, Islamic system, migration, patience and tolerance, and education and training.
Herat Province
Temporary Settlement Committee:
A total of 35 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp located in Herat.
Kabul Province
Transport and Shipping Committee:
Four families consisting of 22 members were safely transported to Sarpul and Takhar provinces.
The cumulative data for the various activities conducted by all the departments and committees are as follows:
Total Registered Migrants: There are 145 families and 502 individuals who have been registered.
Total Transferred Refugees: A total of 63 families and 330 individuals have been safely transferred.
Total Assisted Migrants: Assistance has been provided to 66 families in their migration process.
Temporarily Settled Migrants: Currently, 143 families have been temporarily settled.
Total Refugees Treated: A total of 383 individuals have received medical treatment as refugees.
Distributed SIM Cards: A sum of 510 SIM cards has been distributed.
