Afghan refugees returned to the country through different routes, and they were provided with necessary services in different areas.
The comprehensive report of the committee’s activities is as follows:
Nangarhar
Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
A total of 46 families returned to the country through Torkham, and the committee successfully registered and collected biometric data for 128 members of these families.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to 35 families, amounting to a total of 350,000 Afghanis.
Transportation and Shipping Committee:
14 families consisting of 98 members were safely transported to Jalalabad, Laghman, and Kabul provinces from Torkham. Additionally, these families were given a rental allowance of 30,000 AFN.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
The returning refugees in Torkham camp received various services today, including health-related support. The following services were provided:
– Food: Distribution of 2,600 meals and 85,000 liters of clean water in Torkham camps.
– Food items and clothes: Distribution of 125 blankets, floor mats, gas stoves, 50 packages of raw food items, and other miscellaneous items to the returning refugees.
– Communications: Distribution of 143 SIM cards to the returnees, free of charge, with free minutes and internet packages.
Mosques and Education Organizing Committee:
In collaboration with officials from the Nangarhar province education department’s auxiliary and information department, the committee facilitated the registration and initial stages of education for 24 students. This is to ensure their smooth integration into educational institutions.
The committee also officially refers returning refugees, whose children’s education is incomplete, to their respective provinces to continue their studies after completing the initial stages.
Employment Committee:
In Torkham, the employment committee registered a total of 72 individuals, including 4 bachelor’s degree holders, 3 post-baccalaureate degree holders, 3 vocational certificate holders, 22 laborers, and 40 skilled professionals.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
The committee continued providing public awareness to the refugees. They received useful information regarding registration procedures, transportation, financial assistance, temporary settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Additionally, the committee, in coordination with the Amr Ba-al-Moruf and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar Department of Nangarhar province, extended awareness activities to refugees in different areas. Furthermore, the committee distributed thirty migration forms to the refugees in collaboration with the IOM office.
Kandahar
Spin Boldak (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
48 families comprising 260 members returned to the country via Spin Boldak and were successfully registered.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided financial assistance to 40 families, totaling 400,000 Afghanis, with each family receiving 10,000 Afghanis.
Transportation and Shipping Committee:
10 families consisting of 56 members from Spin Boldak were safely transported to Kandahar and Herat provinces. These families were also provided with a rental allowance of 2,500 Afghanis.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
In Spin Boldak, 39 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp.
Recruitment Committee:
The employment committee in Spin Boldak registered a total of 109 professionals, including 1 individual with a bachelor’s degree, 1 individual with a post-baccalaureate degree, 7 religious scholars, 3 memorizers, 73 laborers, and 24 other individuals.
Additionally, the committee provided public awareness sessions to 40 children in Spin Boldak, covering topics such as explosives, hygiene, child protection, Afghanistan, and mental health. The committee also reunited a separated child with their family.
Zabul
Shmaluzai Rout, (Durand Hypothetical Line)
Transportation and Shipping Committee:
2 families with a total of 9 members were transferred to Qalat and Khaki Afghan districts in Zabul center. These families were provided with a cash rental allowance of 12,000 AFN.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee extended financial assistance to two families, totaling 20,000 Afghanis.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions for information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Paktika
Angor Ada (Durand Hypothetical Line)
Temporary Settlement Committee:
4 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp at Angor Ada.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
In Angor Ada and Sharna, various services, including healthcare, were provided to the returning refugees. The following services were offered:
– Food: Distribution of 118 meals and clean water to the refugees.
– Health: Medical treatment was provided to 31 returning refugees, and they received 3 different vaccines at Angur Base.
Nimroz
Silk Road
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
43 families comprising 241 members returned to the country through the Silk Road in Nimroz province and were registered, while a total of 2,093 singles also returned.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee provided a cash donation of 10 Afghanis to 9 families in the Silk Road area of Nimruz province, amounting to a total of 90,000 Afghanis.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
In Nimroz, 36 families were placed in a short-term settlement camp.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services were provided to the refugees who returned via the Nimroz Silk Road, including:
– Communications: Distribution of 43 SIM cards to the refugees free of charge, with free minutes and internet packages, by officials from the Communications and Information Technology department.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions were conducted for 241 refugees on the Silk Road in Nimruz province. They received valuable information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, short-term settlement, understanding of the country, Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Herat
Temporary Settlement Committee:
39 families were accommodated in a short-term settlement camp in Herat.
Kabul
Transportation and Shipping Committee:
9 families with a total of 22 members were safely transported to Baghlan, Balkh, Takhar, and Kunduz provinces from Kabul.
Summary:
