Afghan refugees returned to the country through different routes, and they were provided with necessary services in different areas.
The comprehensive report of the committee’s activities is as follows:
Torkham (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
A total of 61 families returned to the country via Torkham, and the registration and biometric data of 144 family members were successfully documented.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Organizing Committee has extended assistance to 44 families, providing a total of 44,000 Afghanis to support their immediate financial needs.
Transportation and Transfer Committee:
19 families comprising 145 individuals were safely transported from Torkham to various provinces including Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman, and Kabul.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
A temporary settlement camp has been established in Torkham, accommodating 50 families. The committee has erected 150 tents at the Omari camp to provide immediate shelter.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Returning refugees in the Torkham camp received various services, notably in the field of health. A total of 1600 meals and 85,000 liters of clean water were distributed. Additionally, blankets, flooring materials, gas stoves, 48 packages of raw food items, and other essential items were provided. The committee also distributed 158 SIM cards with free minutes and internet packages to the returnees.
Mosques and Education Organizing Committee:
In collaboration with officials from the Nangarhar province education department’s support and information department, the organizing committee registered 40 students for further education.
Efforts were made to ensure similar opportunities for enrollment in educational institutions. The committee facilitates the completion of education for returning refugees through official channels in their respective provinces.
Job Seeking Committee:
The Employment Committee registered 2 bachelor’s degree holders, 2 skilled workers, 53 laborers, and 43 professionals, totaling 100 individuals in Torkham. The committee also conducted awareness programs on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and the importance of Afghanistan, in addition to providing recreational activities for 165 children to promote their mental well-being.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
The committee continued its efforts in raising public awareness among refugees in Torkham. They disseminated valuable information regarding registration, relocation, financial assistance, temporary settlements, as well as knowledge about the country, the Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Furthermore, in coordination with the Nangarhar province’s Amr Ba-al-Moruf and Nahi-in-ul-Munkar Department, the committee expanded awareness campaigns in different areas. The committee, in collaboration with the IOM office, also distributed 30 immigration forms to the refugees.
Kandahar
Spin Boldak (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
A total of 55 families consisting of 250 individuals returned to the country through Spin Boldak and were successfully registered.
Finance Management Committee:
The Financial Affairs Committee provided assistance to 54 families, offering a total of 54,000 Afghanis in financial support.
Transportation and Transfer Committee:
8 families comprising 36 members were safely transported from Spin Boldak to Kandahar. Additionally, these families were provided a rental subsidy of 16,000 Afghanis.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
A short-term settlement camp was established in Spin Boldak, accommodating 39 families. The committee set up 100 tents in Spin Boldak to provide immediate shelter.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services, including health, were provided to returning refugees in Spin Boldak today. A total of 670 meals and clean water were distributed. Additionally, 240 returnees received medical treatment, and 297 refugees were given public awareness sessions on various health-related topics. Tents, blankets, and clothing were distributed to refugees in the short-term camps.
The committee also distributed 188 SIM cards, provided by the Telecommunication Services Agency, with free minutes and internet packages to the returnees.
Job Seeking Committee:
The Employment Committee registered 4 individuals with bachelor’s degrees, 4 religious scholars, 64 low-income workers, and 19 professionals, totaling 91 individuals in Spin Boldak.
The committee conducted awareness programs on explosives, cleanliness, child protection, and the significance of Afghanistan for 49 children in Spin Boldak. They also organized games and entertainment activities to promote mental well-being. Furthermore, the committee successfully reunited 3 separated children with their families.
Paktia
Temporary Settlement Committee:
4 families were provided temporary settlement in a camp in Paktia.
Paktika
Angor Base (Durand Fictitious Line)
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
Two families returned to the country and completed their registration through the Anangur base in Paktika province.
Finance Management Committee:
During their journey to the Angur base in Paktika province, two families received a cash assistance of 10000 Afghanis each, totaling 20,000 Afghanis.
Transportation and Shipping Committee:
Two families were safely transported from the Angur base to their respective areas and villages.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services, including health support, were provided to the returning refugees in Angur Adha and Sharna. A total of 61 meals and clean water were distributed to the refugees in these locations.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions were conducted for the refugees along the way to the Angur base. They received valuable information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, temporary settlements, as well as understanding the country, the Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Nimroz
Silk Road Rout
Registration, Confirmation, and Reception Committee:
20 families comprising 93 members returned to the country through the Silk Road in Nimroz province. They were registered, and an additional 777 travelers also returned.
Temporary Settlement Committee:
In Nimroz, a short-term settlement camp was established, accommodating 30 families.
Services and Health Affairs Committee:
Various services, including health support, were provided to the refugees who returned through the Nimroz Silk Road. The Communications and Information Technology officials distributed four SIM cards to the refugees, providing free minutes and internet packages.
Information and Public Awareness Committee:
Public awareness sessions were conducted for the 93 refugees who returned through the Silk Road in Nimroz province. They received valuable information regarding registration, transportation, financial assistance, temporary settlements, as well as an understanding the country, the Islamic system, migration, patience, tolerance, education, and training.
Kabul
Transportation and Transfer Committee:
Seven families comprising 14 members from Kabul were safely transported to Gardiz and Faryab provinces. The total rental cost of transportation for these families was 12,000 Afghanis.
