Ilham Mohammadov, the Azerbaijani ambassador in Kabul, said that the opening of his country’s embassy in Afghanistan is indicative of the good and positive relations between Kabul and Baku.
The Arg in a statement stated that Mohammadov, during a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Abdul Salam Hanafi, said that Afghanistan and Azerbaijan share independence, territorial integrity, and a policy of non-interference.
He also announced his country’s investment in Afghanistan’s mining, education and training sectors, and in facilitating service processes.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said: “The meeting discussed the relations between the two countries, and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan expressed its full readiness towards diplomatic and economic relations with Azerbaijan.”
Salim Paigir, a political affairs expert, said: “Any country that wants to play a role in Afghanistan’s political life today or opens its embassy, is in the interest of the Afghan people and the Islamic Emirate.” It is mentionable that during the past month, delegations from various countries have come to Afghanistan to engage in dialogue with officials of the Islamic Emirate.
