A Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Joint-Stock Company Signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Chamber of Industry and Mines
In the presence of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint-stock company between the Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Chamber of Industry and Mines was signed today, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Government Media and Information Center.
Addressing the ceremony held on this occasion, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund described the establishment of the joint-stock company as important for the implementation of major economic and infrastructure projects and the expansion of investment in the country. He said that this initiative is an effort to establish a systematic and practical pathway for the country’s economic future.
The Deputy PM stated that, alongside the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the private sector also plays an important role in the country’s economic growth and can make a fundamental contribution to increasing production, creating employment, expanding exports, and financing major projects.
The Deputy PM further stated that, through this company, the capital of numerous traders, industrialists, and investors will be pooled within an organized, legal, and transparent framework, and their collective capacity will be utilized to finance major projects.
The Deputy PM said that the Islamic Emirate has created a secure environment for investors and industrialists in the country and, to this end, has taken necessary measures to provide legal, administrative, and economic facilities, removed obstacles to investment, and is working to simplify administrative procedures. He added that numerous facilities have also been created to attract and encourage investment in various sectors.
The Deputy PM called on all traders, industrialists, and investors to contribute to the economic development of Afghanistan, pool their capacities, and invest jointly in the country’s economic progress. He also called on the officials of government institutions to provide full cooperation in strengthening the private sector.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the joint-stock company between the Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Chamber of Industry and Mines was signed, which will create new investment opportunities for the implementation of infrastructure projects in various sectors.
