Expansion of Digital Services, Facilitation of Public Services and Creation of Thousands of Jobs; Key Achievements of Public Services Week in 1447 AH

Within the framework of the “Government in the Mirror of the Press” program and on the occasion of the Public Services Week, the major achievements of the country's public service sectors during 1447 AH were announced. According to the report, citizens benefited from various services in the areas of telecommunications, labor and social affairs, civil registration, passports and municipal services, while employment opportunities were created for hundreds of thousands of people.
According to the information, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology activated approximately 350 new telecommunications towers to expand telecommunications services in underserved areas, while work is underway to activate 150 additional towers. In addition, approximately 500 new towers were activated through investments by telecommunications companies.
In the area of telecommunications infrastructure development, 851 kilometers of fiber-optic network were expanded during 1447 AH and a total of 2932 telecommunications towers were established across the country. Furthermore, 491126 SIM cards were distributed to provide telecommunications services to returnees. Throughout these activities, direct and indirect employment opportunities created for approximately 184000 people.
In regulating the activities of NGOs, the Ministry of Economy issued operating licenses to 84 domestic organizations and 2 foreign organizations. The activities of these organizations in the fields of social services, healthcare, agriculture, irrigation, livestock, education and humanitarian assistance created direct employment opportunities for approximately 140000 people.
In the area of labor and social affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs issued 62739 work permits to Afghan and foreign nationals during 1447 AH. It also provided technical and vocational training aligned with labor market needs to 45355 people and distributed approximately 24000 graduation certificates to participants in these programs.
In the field of civil registration services, the National Statistics and Information Authority distributed approximately 2 million electronic national identity cards, around 1 million new and duplicate paper identity cards, and 20000 paper identity cards to nomads.
During the same period, services for the correction of paper identity cards were provided to more than 139000 people in person and approximately 214000 people online. In addition, more than 126000 birth certificates and approximately 25000 death certificates were issued and distributed.
The General Directorate of Passports of the Ministry of Interior Affairs distributed a total of 650860 ordinary passports, 3345 business passports and 512 student passports during 1447 AH. In addition, the visas of 16717 foreign nationals were extended. To make the application process more convenient, the passport registration form was also reduced from nine pages to one page.
In the area of urban regulation, Kabul Municipality issued operating permits to 13970 various businesses across Kabul's 22 districts. The activities of 4884 non-compliant businesses were temporarily suspended for unfollowing the price lists and the necessary guidance was provided to them.
In the area of urban greening, 531580 trees and ornamental flowers were planted. In terms of urban cleaning, more than 622111 tons of solid waste were collected and transported. In addition, more than 27000 meters of canals and 425000 meters of roadside drainage channels were cleaned in various parts of Kabul City.
The state-owned Afghan Post Company also facilitated the delivery of more than 5028000 domestic postal items and 5853 parcels to outside the country during the past year.
Afghan Post also provided verification services for 193884 educational documents and certification services for 234733 various documents. To make its services more accessible to citizens, the company launched urgent services, customer service centers and door-to-door document delivery services.
Based on these achievements, the Islamic Emirate has continued its efforts to provide faster and more effective services to citizens by expanding digital services, simplifying administrative procedures, broadening urban services and strengthening public service institutions.
