Approximately 4 Million Usurped Lands Have Been Returned

2025-05-11

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, the Land Usurpation Prevention Commission held a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) to present its performance and achievements.

During the press conference, the Deputy Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs and member of the Land Usurpation Prevention Commission, Mawlawi Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi stated that based on the Islamic principles, the usurpation of others' goods is Haram and a major sin. Also, these actions clearly oppose the guidance of Allah Almighty and the Prophet (PBUH). He added that since the beginning of the commission's activities, nearly 49.7 million Jeribs of land have been identified, about 3.7 million Jeribs have been returned, and decisions have been made for dozens of cases. Additionally, the commission has registered over 12.7 million Jeribs of land and has preserved them as government property.

Based on the deputy information, the Commission for the Prevention of Usurpation and the Recovery of Usurped Lands will be transformed into a ministry, and its work will continue seriously until a new ministry is established.

The officials of the commission further mentioned that only in Kabul province, 66 thousand Jeribs of usurped land have been retaken. This shows that the struggle of the IEA is not just a slogan but a practical action. They also stated that the ‘New Kabul’ project is being implemented in the Deh Sabz area. It is a critical project due to Kabul's expansion and its role in addressing the homelessness problem. For this critical project, 370 thousand Jerib of land have been allocated, and currently in this project four corporations are actively participating. Investors can take part and further boost this national project.

Moreover, the commission officials said that our message to usurpers and illegal occupiers is to vacate government-owned properties. Submit a letter of satisfaction and cooperate with the IEA before legal actions begin.

At the conclusion of the press conference, the officials underscored that every religious scholar, prominent personality, ethnic leader, and influential person should cooperate with the IEA. They should take part in the struggle against the usurpation of government-owned properties and explain the negative effects of these illegal actions to the public.
