Ensuring Justice, Promoting Religious Values and Preserving Cultural Identity; Key Achievements of the Promotion of Religious and Cultural Values, Justice and the Rule of Law Week in 1447 AH

Within the framework of the "Government in the Mirror of the Press" program and on the occasion of the Promotion of Religious and Cultural Values, Justice and the Rule of Law Week, the major achievements of the country's judicial, legal, religious and cultural institutions during 1447 AH were announced. According to the report, significant measures were implemented to strengthen justice, enforce the rule of law, promote Islamic values, preserve the country's cultural identity, resolve disputes, protect public assets and recover usurped state lands.
Based on the information, during 1447 AH, the Supreme Court adjudicated 262937 cases through courts across the country, issued 160346 Sharia legal documents, and resolved 71674 civil disputes through reconciliation and legal settlement. In addition, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, 9003 prisoners were either released or had their prison sentences reduced.
The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs reported the completion of 44 mosques, the renovation of 28 additional mosques, the facilitation of 30000 Hajj pilgrims, the dispatch of 79037 Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, the issuance of 228 written fatwas, and the organization of Quran interpretation courses at 411 military centers.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice announced that during the past year it drafted and reviewed 137 legislative documents, published 24 legislative instruments in the Official Gazette, and defended the rights and assets of the Islamic Emirate in more than 6000 legal cases. These efforts resulted in the recovery of more than 44000 jeribs of land, 171 shops, 8 buildings, over AFN 1.056 billion and USD 3.3 million in favor of the Islamic Emirate.
According to the Commission for the Prevention of Land Grabbing and the Recovery of Grabbed Lands, during 1447 AH, more than 2.044 million jeribs of state-owned and endowed land were verified, while 276 restitution decisions were issued concerning more than 949664 jeribs of usurped land.
The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints also reported conducting more than 10000 public awareness sessions, handling 3294 cases related to the Sharia-based rights of women, rescuing 1360 women from domestic violence, resolving 4896 disputes and registering 10000 complaints which more than 6000 were successfully resolved.
In the cultural sector, the Ministry of Information and Culture announced that during 1447 AH, approximately 8 million domestic tourists and 10000 foreign tourists visited Afghanistan's historical and cultural sites. The ministry also restored 32 historical monuments, registered 44 archaeological sites, conserved 202 archaeological artifacts and prevented the smuggling of 134 historical artifacts. The Ministry further expanded the number of active government libraries to 114, while issuing or renewing operating licenses for dozens of media outlets, cultural institutions and tourism companies.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs reported resolving 432 disputes across the country and organizing 459 public and tribal gatherings aimed at strengthening national unity and promoting social cohesion.
According to the report, the Islamic Emirate continues its efforts to build a society founded on justice, the rule of law, Islamic and cultural values, the preservation of historical heritage, addressing the public issues and strengthening the social solidarity.
The "Government in the Mirror of the Press" program was launched by the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) to highlight the key achievements, activities and public services of government institutions.
