ASA: Work Has Been Conducted on 206 Scientific-Research Project Titles

On 21 July 2025, officials from Afghanistan Science Academy (ASA), during a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), presented the ASA’s annual achievements and performances as part of IEA’s entity to report the annual achievements.

During the press conference, the officials of ASA stated that over the past year, in this institution work has been conducted on a total of 206 scientific-research project titles. This institution continues its activities within a cohesive framework of scientific, research, and administrative structure with 16 scientific centers, 48 institutes, and 73 departments.

According to the officials, key accomplishments include holding 7 scientific-research seminars, organizing 67 scientific conferences, defending 30 scientific-research projects, translating 14 scientific works, authoring over 200 scientific-research topics, and approving 36 scientific projects by the Academy’s Scientific Council.

Based on the provided information, the first volume of the Dari scientific literary encyclopedia has been completed. Additionally, encyclopedias for children and teenagers, as well as Islamic banking, human sciences, and Islamic and natural fields have been revised. 

Furthermore, efforts to build capacity are demonstrated through participation in international seminars in Oman and China, signing of 5 scientific memorandums of understanding with universities and the National Library of the Islamic Republic, introducing 10 individuals for master’s and doctoral scholarships in various nations, and introducing 80 other individuals for educational programs of capacity-building. Also, 18 educational programs have organized and 26 professors have promoted.

The major achievements in administration reforms include preparing a strategic plan, formulating its implementation policies, and completing proposals in areas such as the electronic library, research diagnostics clinic, ethnographic museum, chemistry lab, and research farm.

According to the officials, in the past year, close cooperation has been established with other applicant departments in scientific curriculum design, content production, and Sharia-based analysis.

In conclusion, the officials emphasized that these accomplishments reflect the institution’s continuous effort and commitment to advancing national scientific development and promoting Islamic and national culture under the strategic framework of the Islamic Emirate.
