His Highness Amirul Momineen’s (may Allah protect him) Decree Prohibits the Import of Low-Quality Fuel into the Country

During a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), a delegation chaired by Mawlawi Shamsuddin Shariati, President of the High Directorate of Supervision and Prosecution of Decrees and Edicts (HDS), provided information on His Highness Amirul Momineen’s (may Allah protect him) decree regarding the prevention of importing low-quality fuel into the country.
The delegation consisted of representatives from the Ministries and Administrations of Finance, Mines and Petroleum, Industry and Commerce, and Interior Affairs, along with the General Directorate of Intelligence, the National Environmental Protection Agency, the Afghanistan National Standards Authority, the Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation, and the Deputy of Sources and Administration of the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the press conference, Mawlawi Shamsuddin Shariati, President of HDS stated that on 1446/4/11 of the lunar year, the Cabinet of the Islamic Emirate assigned a delegation led by the High Directorate of Supervision and Prosecution of Decrees and Edicts to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the methods used for importing low-quality fuel into the country. The delegation was tasked with organizing a proposal and a comprehensive report, as well as presenting effective solutions to the cabinet to address the current situation.
According to him, the appointed delegation, after conducting a thorough inspection, submitted a proposal and a detailed report, which were ratified by the cabinet and aligned with issue number (5671/793) on 1446/10/17 of the lunar year and approved by His Highness Amirul Momineen (may Allah protect him). Based on the decree, the import of low-quality oil and other petroleum products into the country has been prohibited, and all relevant authorities have been instructed to ensure better implementation of its provisions.
The cabinet of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, following the recommendations of the appointed committee, has approved decisions regarding the import of fuel and petroleum products. These decisions include the suspension of imports of A-80 fuel, the halt of imports from Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi port, a ban on imports in border areas without laboratories, the stoppage of unnecessary raw material imports, the suspension of license issuance, a review of some standards, and heavy penalties on companies importing low-quality fuel and petroleum products. Additionally, the officials have announced that from now on, the import of fuel and petroleum products will only be allowed for individuals and companies with official licenses.
Furthermore, the officials state that in order to better implement the provisions of the decree of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, departments for monitoring and following up on decrees and orders, as well as standard laboratories for testing petroleum products, will be established and further equipped at the country's ports.
Moreover, Dr. Mullah Zainulabidin Abid, deputy of the National Environmental Protection Agency also spoke about the damages caused by low-quality fuel and petroleum products, urging importers to pay more attention to this issue.
Additionally, private sector officials, while supporting this government initiative, called on traders to seriously focus on importing high-quality fuel and strictly refrain from bringing in low-quality fuel and petroleum products.
