According to the Bakhtar News Agency, construction and rehabilitation works covering 164 kilometers of rural roads have commenced in the districts of Chaharsada, Al-Faruq, Dawlatina, Tulak, Dawlatyar, and Shahrak in Ghor Province.
The project is being implemented under the Food-for-Work program by the Provincial Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, with technical support from CRDSA and financial assistance from the World Food Programme (WFP).
Officials stated that the project aims to generate employment opportunities for rural communities while simultaneously improving transportation infrastructure. In addition to road construction and rehabilitation, food assistance packages; including flour, cooking oil, pulses, and salt; will be distributed to 2,500 beneficiary households. Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly alleviate transportation challenges in the targeted areas.
