Message of the Director
Accurate, timely and reliable information dissemination is a cornerstone of effective governance. As the principal conduit between the government, media, and the public, the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that information is communicated with clarity and integrity. Leveraging both human and technological resources, GMIC is dedicated to reflecting realities, fostering constructive engagement between media and government institutions, and enhancing public awareness of the policies and achievements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Our Mission and Objectives
GMIC was established with the primary objective of strengthening coordination between media and government entities, facilitating journalists’ access to credible information, and ensuring the effective communication of government programs, policies, and progress. In addition, GMIC is committed to fostering an environment of trust and mutual understanding between the government and the public.
A key mandate of this institution is the dissemination of official directives, guidelines, decrees, and orders issued by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate and the Prime Minister of Afghanistan. This structured approach to communication ensures coherence in information dissemination while mitigating the spread of misinformation and unfounded speculation.
Achievements and Strategic Vision
Since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, we have undertaken substantial efforts over the past three years to advance these objectives. Notable initiatives include the formulation and implementation of effective strategies, the enhancement of media access to credible information sources, the facilitation of meaningful engagement between journalists and government institutions, and the development of new platforms for the dissemination of factual information.
Despite these significant advancements, the evolution of the media landscape remains an ongoing endeavor. Moving forward, we are committed to launching innovative and diversified initiatives, producing and disseminating more comprehensive content, strengthening media activities in Afghanistan, and leveraging state-of-the-art communication tools to further elevate public awareness. Furthermore, a key priority remains the support of responsible, ethical, and professional media activities while proactively addressing the challenges confronting the information sector.
Our Commitment to a Bright Future
We firmly believe that transparent and responsible communication not only reinforces the relationship between the government and its citizens but also serves as a catalyst for social cohesion, national unity, and sustainable development. The Government Media and Information remains resolute in its mission to facilitate strategic information dissemination, enhance collaboration with media outlets, and support constructive public discourse.
Through our unwavering dedication to these principles, we strive to create an environment where truth is prioritized, public perspectives are acknowledged, and the real image of today’s Afghanistan is presented to the world.
