22.75 MW Solar Plant Set to Boost National Power Supply

As part of national efforts to achieve self-reliance in clean energy production, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherikat (DABS) has announced that construction of the 22.75-megawatt solar power generation project in Surobi District of Kabul Province has reached 99 percent completion.

Upon commissioning, the project; Afghanistan’s first large-scale solar power facility; will supply approximately 42,575 megawatt-hours of electricity annually to the national grid, significantly mitigating chronic electricity shortages.

Implemented through private sector investment, the project is expected to provide reliable electricity for industrial, commercial, and residential consumers, thereby supporting economic growth.
