Enhancing Journalistic Collaboration: Insights from the Visit to the Afghanistan Union of Independent Journalists

Mawlavi Naeem al-Haq Haqqani, the Director of the Government’s Media and Information Center (GMIC), accompanied by his Deputy, Hashmatullah Nasiri, engaged in a visit to the Union of Independent Journalists of Afghanistan.
At the outset, Mr. Hujjatullah Majdadi, the Director of the Afghanistan Union of Independent Journalists, extended a warm welcome to the Director and Deputy of the GMIC. He provided a comprehensive overview of the Union's activities and initiatives.
Mr. Majdadi underscored that the Union of Independent Journalists is dedicated to enhancing media activities across the nation and addressing the challenges faced by journalists.
Following this, Mr. Mawlavi Naeem al-Haq Haqqani articulated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is committed to upholding freedom of expression within the framework of Islamic principles. He emphasized that GMIC has consistently endeavored to strengthen media operations in the country, enhance collaboration and interaction between Emirate institutions and media representatives, and promptly address journalists’ concerns regarding access to information.
Mr. Haqqani further noted that GMIC is continuously striving to foster closer relations between state institutions and the media, while enhancing the level of cooperation between both parties.
Moreover, Mr. Hashmatullah Nasiri, the Deputy Director of GMIC, stated that the Government Media and Information Center regularly organizes coordination meetings between media entities and representatives of media-supporting organizations, with the aim of further enhancing cooperation and interaction between both sides.
Mr. Nasiri highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between GMIC and the Union of Independent Journalists in organizing training workshops to improve the professional competencies of media representatives, facilitating academic trips for journalism students at the Center, and effectively reflecting the achievements of the system through the media.
