Fostering Media Collaboration: Leadership of GMIC Visits Al Jazeera

The Director of the Government’s Media and Information Center, Mawlavi Naeem al-Haq Haqqani, along with his accompanying delegation, conducted a visit to the Al Jazeera office in Kabul.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Hashmatullah Nasiri, the Deputy Director of GMIC, provided a comprehensive overview of the objectives and purposes of the visit. He stated that GMIC has initiated a series of visits to various media organizations to closely understand the challenges they face regarding access to information and to seek viable solutions.
Following this, Mr. Mawlavi Naeem al-Haq Haqqani addressed the attendees, affirming that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is committed to upholding freedom of expression and promoting media activities in accordance with Islamic principles. He emphasized that GMIC has consistently sought to strengthen media operations within the country, enhance collaboration and interaction between state institutions and media representatives, and promptly address journalists' issues related to access to information.
He urged the officials of Al Jazeera in Kabul to accurately portray Afghanistan to the world by publishing fact-based reports and news.
In addition, Mr. Hamidullah Mohammad Shah, the head of Al Jazeera's office in Kabul, welcomed the leadership of GMIC, offering detailed insights into the network’s media activities in Afghanistan. Furthermore, he highlighted several challenges related to access to information and requested the Media Center's collaboration in addressing these issues.
