National Procurement Commission Approves 11 Projects Worth Approximately AFN 1.5 Billion 

The regular meeting of the National Procurement Commission was held under the chairmanship of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. 
A total of 30 projects were presented to the meeting for approval. After comprehensive discussions, 11 projects worth more than AFN 1.538 billion were approved, while a series of amendments were made to 15 projects. 
In addition, the contract of one project was terminated, one project was reconsidered, and designated committees were tasked with conducting a comprehensive evaluation of two projects and submitting their findings to the leadership of the National Procurement Commission.
The approved projects include: the ninth reinforcement lot of Yatim Tapa in Darqad District of Takhar Province; rehabilitation of the runway at Ghor Airport; award of operation and maintenance contracts for Kabul International Airport; construction of more than 17 kilometers of the Dahn-e-Ghori road in Baghlan; construction of the Zargarano–Gardez City road in Paktika; procurement of mining equipment for the Northern Coal Enterprise; procurement of required vehicles for the Afghan Tour State-owned Enterprise; construction and installation of substations from Qurbagh and Muqar to Shah Jui; the power supply of Musahi District of Kabul, including construction materials, installation and assembly; and the surveying, design, and testing contracts for the 220-kilovolt Barikab Substation of the same province. 
The approved projects are financed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
