GMIC Leadership Visits Shamshad TV and Zhwandoon Radio & Television
Mawlavi Naeemulhaq Haqqani, Director of the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), along with his accompanying delegation, conducted an official visit on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) to Shamshad and Zhwandoon Radio & Television.
At the outset, Hashmatullah Nasiri, Deputy Director of the Government Media and Information Center, explained the objectives of the visit. He expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation of media outlets in reflecting the activities and achievements of the government institutions. He also underscored the importance of further strengthening coordination between the media and government bodies to ensure broader coverage of the government’s accomplishments.
Following this, Mawlavi Naeemulhaq Haqqani delivered remarks, stating that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is committed; within the framework of Islamic principles; to freedom of expression and media activities. He emphasized that the government consistently strives to further expand the country’s media environment, ensuring that on one hand, the achievements and initiatives of the government entities are conveyed to the public, and on the other hand, the needs and concerns of the people are communicated to the relevant authorities.
According to Mr. Haqqani, efforts by the Government Media and Information Center have significantly increased cooperation and constructive engagement between government bodies and media outlets. He noted that many challenges related to journalists’ access to information have been substantially addressed.
Mr. Haqqani also urged the leadership of Shamshad TV and Zhwandoon TV to focus on factual and accurate reporting so that the true image of Afghanistan is presented to the world.
Later in the visit, Fazel Karim Fazel, Founder of Shamshad Radio & Television, and Javid Agha Latifi, Head of Zhwandoon Television, welcomed the delegation and provided detailed information on their media activities. They described the visit as an effective initiative to strengthen cooperation and enhance engagement between both sides.
The media representatives acknowledged that the spokespersons’ briefings and media sessions organized by GMIC have been instrumental in improving access to information and resolving various challenges. However, they emphasized that some issues still persist and require additional attention from the Center’s leadership.
In conclusion, GMIC leadership reiterated their commitment to continued cooperation, particularly in facilitating journalists’ access to information and addressing related matters.
