New Information-Sharing Mechanism Unveiled at Media Coordination Meeting
Representatives of domestic and international media organizations met with officials of the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) in Kabul to discuss ways of improving access to information and strengthening cooperation between government institutions and the media.
The meeting, held at the GMIC, focused on enhancing the dissemination of information related to the activities, services, and achievements of government institutions and ensuring more effective communication with the public.
Speaking at the event, GMIC Director Mawlavi Naeem-ul-Haq Haqqani emphasized the role of the media in informing citizens and highlighting the work of public institutions. He noted that continued cooperation between the media and government agencies is essential for providing accurate and timely information to the public.
Haqqani also introduced a number of new initiatives and programs aimed at facilitating media access to official information. According to him, the measures are expected to streamline communication channels and improve the effectiveness of news coverage related to government affairs.
During the meeting, GMIC Deputy Director Hashmatullah Nasiri presented details of a new information-sharing mechanism designed to improve coordination between government institutions and media organizations. He called for the cooperation of media outlets in implementing the mechanism and ensuring the wider dissemination of official information.
Media representatives welcomed the initiative and expressed support for efforts aimed at improving information flow and strengthening professional engagement between government institutions and journalists. Participants also shared recommendations for further enhancing the effectiveness of the proposed programs.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to facilitate public access to information and support informed reporting on national developments.
