The twenty-first shipment of humanitarian aid from Turkey, comprising over 700 tons of food and non-food items, has been delivered to Afghanistan through the Turghundi port in Herat.
This 724-ton shipment includes 4,000 tents, 3,000 blankets, 5,000 kitchen sets, 10,000 food packages, and various hygiene products.
Shokro Jan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Turkish Red Crescent, remarked that these contributions were made possible through the support of the President of Turkey, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the Red Crescent, and other charitable organizations in Turkey, with the aim of assisting the people of Afghanistan. He further emphasized that this aid exemplifies the friendship and solidarity of the Turkish people towards the Afghan population.
Representatives from the Afghan Red Crescent confirmed that the aid, including the 4,000 tents and additional essential supplies, will be distributed to the most vulnerable communities across all 34 provinces and seven regions of Afghanistan.
Turkish officials have also reassured that humanitarian assistance from Turkey will continue, further solidifying the country's commitment to supporting Afghanistan.
This marks the twenty-first humanitarian aid shipment from Turkey to Afghanistan over the past three years. Turkish authorities have referred to these efforts as the "Train of Goodness," underscoring the collective intention of the Turkish government and people to support the Afghan population in their time of need. #
