Three Electricity Projects Worth 1.12 Billion Afghanis Launched in Faryab
Today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, three electricity transmission and distribution projects were inaugurated in Faryab Province by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs.
These projects include the extension of a 110 kV power transmission line from the central substation of Faryab Province to Balcheragh and Gurziwan districts, the construction of a 110/20 kV substation in Balcheragh district, and the expansion of electricity distribution networks through transformers with a capacity of 18 MVA in Balcheragh district and 5 MVA in Pashtun Kot district.
The total cost of these projects is 1.12 billion Afghanis, funded by the Islamic Emirate and they are scheduled to be completed by the private sector within three years.
Upon completion, these projects will help reduce electricity shortages and provide improved services and facilities to the local population.
