Procurement Commission Approves 15 Projects at a Cost of Approximately AFN 4.2 Billion
The regular meeting of the Procurement Commission was held today, Saturday, May 23, 2025, at the Marmarin Palace under the chairmanship of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs. According to the agenda, 31 projects were presented to the meeting for approval.
Following discussion, 15 projects worth AFN 4.2 billion were approved, while a number of amendments were made to 7 projects.
Regarding four projects, assigned committees were tasked to negotiate project prices with the winning companies and submit their reports to the leadership of the Procurement Commission.
Likewise, designated committees were assigned to reassess the procurement process of three projects and present their reports to the Commission’s leadership.
In addition, it was decided that two other projects would proceed through restricted tendering.
The approved and amended projects include completion of geotechnical studies for the Zardalu Dam in Ghazni Province; construction of a 14-kilometre road at Hairatan Port in Balkh Province; construction of the Kabul–Logar road from the end of Lot One to Sang-e-Nawishta; construction of public hospitals in Lolash District of Faryab Province, Andar District of Ghazni Province, Kajran District of Daikundi Province, Bala Murghab District of Badghis Province, Kahmard District of Bamyan Province, and Musa Khel District of Khost Province; as well as completion of the remaining works of electricity transmission and distribution projects in various provinces. The approved projects are financed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
