Deputy PM Holds Farewell Meeting with the Ambassador of Türkiye in Afghanistan

Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, held a farewell meeting with Cenk Ünal, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Afghanistan, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Cenk Ünal expressed his gratitude for the cooperation extended by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan throughout his diplomatic mission and described his two-year service in Afghanistan as a source of pride.

He also highlighted his efforts to expand relations between Türkiye and Afghanistan across various sectors, noting that safeguarding the mutual interests of both countries had been a top priority and that tangible progress had been achieved in this regard.

The Turkish Ambassador further referred to the development of trade relations between the two countries, stating that efforts had been made to facilitate the transfer of Afghan commercial goods to Türkiye and to establish transportation routes.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his pleasure at meeting Ambassador Cenk Ünal and commended his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, wishing him success in his future assignments.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that Afghanistan and Türkiye share deep commonalities and have always acted as friendly and brotherly nations.

He further emphasized that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seeks to further expand relations in political, economic, health, and cultural fields, and expressed hope that practical steps would be taken to facilitate commercial and medical visas.
