GMIC’s Director Meets Head of the Journalists’ Safety Committee and Cultural Figures of Herat Province

Today, 28 April 2026, the Director of the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), Mawlawi Naeemulhaq Haqqani met with the Head of the Journalists’ Safety Committee, along with a number of cultural figures from Herat province.

At the outset, while warmly welcoming the guests, Mawlawi Haqqani provided comprehensive information about GMIC’s activities and work.

Mawlawi Haqqani stated that GMIC, as an effective communication bridge among Emirati entities, media, and media organizations, has always strived to strengthen coordination and cooperation among institutions in order to properly share the system’s achievements and address media challenges related to access to information.

In turn, the Head of the Journalists’ Safety Committee, Mr. Jamil Wiqar, along with the cultural figures of Herat province spoke and shared information about their activities.

Appreciating GMIC’s efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination among Emirati entities, media, and media organizations, as well as improving access to information, they emphasized the continuation of these efforts. They also highlighted some problems in related areas and urged the leadership of GMIC to assist in resolving them.

At the conclusion, the Director of GMIC assured them of continued efforts to improve and strengthen the media and cultural sectors.
