ASQA Signs $46M Contract to Upgrade Laboratory Standards and Border Quality Control

The Afghanistan Standards and Quality Authority (ASQA), as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen quality infrastructure, enhance laboratory capacity, and standardize goods quality assessment processes, has signed a contract with the international Indian company (TCRC) for the construction and equipping of laboratory complexes at the central level and at nine border ports across the country. The signing ceremony was held at the Government Media and Information Center in the presence of Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

Under the chairmanship of His Excellency Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and in the presence of the Ministers of Finance, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, and Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, as well as the Deputy Ministers of Energy and Water and the Administrative Affairs Office, a meeting was convened this morning to address the strengthening of groundwater resources and the effective utilization of the country’s water resources.
