2025-07-16

Today, 16 July 2025, during a press conference at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC), the program of Explanation of the Annual Progress Reports of the Govt. Institutions officially started. The program was inaugurated by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, H.E. Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi.

Alongside him, the program was attended by Qari Abdul Sattar Sayeed, Deputy of Public and Strategic Relations of the Office of the PM, Mawlawi Naeemulhaq Haqqani Herati, Director of GMIC, Deputy Spokesperson of IEA, Mawlawi Hamdullah Fitrat, as well as other officials and guests.

During the press conference, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office stated that four years ago, the Islamic Emirate came to power at a time when the country faced many security, economic, social, and cultural challenges. Most people believed the new government would struggle with managing affairs. However, thanks to the leadership and committed efforts of the Islamic Emirate over the past four years, important and positive changes and reforms have been brought to different parts of the country.

Additionally, H.E. Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi mentioned some of the key achievements include the general amnesty decree by the Esteemed Amirull Mominin (may Allah protect him), reforms in administrative structures, elimination of corruption, transparency in revenue collection, preparing the national budget through domestic income, reducing poppy cultivation and production to zero, treating drug addicted  people, ensuring security, building relations with more than 40 countries, and launching and implementing major development projects.

He further said that the IEA, based on the Islamic principles, is committed to freedom of expression and supports media activities. He emphasized that media serve as a communication bridge between the public and the government. He also believes that presenting government performance accurately, addressing public concerns, and promoting reforms are more effective when done through media.

Continuing his speech, H.E. Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi said that we are working to improve access to information for journalists and media. For this purpose, we organize an annual program to explain the achievements of the IEA’s institutions, so that accurate and reliable information about their work and progress can reach the people and the international community.

At the end of his remarks, H.E. Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi called on officials of the IEA’s institutions to actively participate in these press conferences and share information about their activities with the public and the world. He also requested the media to fully cooperate in covering this important program.
