Launch of the National Tree Planting Program for the Year 1404 in Kabul

The National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) and Kabul Municipality have officially launched the National Tree Planting Program for the year 1404 through their collaborative efforts.

During the opening ceremony of the tree planting initiative, Dr. Mullah Zainul Abidin Abid, Deputy Head of the National Environmental Protection Agency, extended a warm welcome to the participants and delivered an insightful speech highlighting the critical importance of tree planting. He emphasized that all citizens should foster a deep sense of patriotism, demonstrate their love for the country, and actively contribute to its prosperity by participating in tree planting efforts.

According to the outlined strategy, by the year 1410 (2032), 200 million trees are projected to be planted.

Dr. Abid further stated that this year, the National Environmental Protection Agency has committed to planting 2.2 million trees. He expressed optimism that the actual number of trees planted will surpass this initial target.

Prominent figures also spoke at the event, including Mawlavi Sadruddin Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock; Shaikh Said Ahmad Shaheed Khil, Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Vice and Virute; Dr. Farooq Azam, Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Water and Energy; Ahmad Shah Alkozai, representative of the public; and representatives of UNAMA in Kabul. They all delivered comprehensive addresses on the economic, political, and social significance of tree planting. #
