Afghanistan’s Fresh Fruit Exports Reach 296,000 Tons, Valued at $143 Million

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has reported that Afghanistan exported 296,000 tons of fresh fruit to international markets over the past 11 months, generating revenue of $143.11 million.
According to the ministry’s statement, the country’s fresh fruit exports included apples, grapes, pomegranates, fresh figs, apricots, cherries, mulberries, melons, blackberries, and various other fruits.
Akundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, stated: “Afghanistan’s total fresh fruit exports for this year have reached approximately 296,000 tons, with a cumulative value of $143.11 million.”
The Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock has emphasized the high value of Afghan fresh produce in global markets. It has also called for increased support for domestic agricultural products and the identification of alternative export markets to sustain and expand trade opportunities. #
